Over the past five years, the GEO has visited numerous golf courses around the world, and has certificated almost fifty, located mainly in Europe (one in Italy). Let's discover someone, starting from the Belas Clube de Campo, an 18 hole golf course that is located in Portugal. This country is prone to drought, and in the opinion of sustainability experts of the Golf Environment Organization (GEO), is among the most innovative in terms of water management. In fact, as explains Jonathan Smith of GEO, this golf course with his 55 hectares with mountain views, and 20 hectares of woodland, excels in recycling and reuse of water for irrigation. The Italian champion among the golf courses in the world greener is the Golf Club La Pinetina in Appiano Gentile, in the beautiful Pineta Park about 40 kilometers from Milan. A further guarantee of sustainability is the fact of being in a regional park. We travel to Asia, to discover another golf course environmentally friendly: the Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course, in Hong Kong, is one of the most popular golf courses in the world. Here, all employees have received strict training on the disposal of pesticides, management and water use reduction, energy saving and environmental planning. And finally, soon this wonderful and eco-friendly golf course will also have a fleet of solar and hybrid cars for travel on the route to 54 holes.
